Putin denies any contacts with Erdogan as Turkey refuses to apologize
Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to talk with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as Ankara does not want to apologize for shooting down Russian aircraft of the Turkish Air Force, told reporters today the representative of the Kremlin, Yuri Usakov.
"We note the reluctance of Turkey to ask for a simple apology for the incident (pp downing of the aircraft)," the Usakov answered a question why Putin refused to talk with Erdogan.
The Usakov noted that the Kremlin received a request from Ankara for a possible meeting of the two leaders in Paris climate conference to be held on November 30 and added that Putin would later informed today for this request.
"I would like to meet with Putin Monday face to face in Paris to talk," said Erdogan earlier today. "We would like this problem to harm our relations," he said.
Alongside today Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Turkish government starts to behave "nervously" after bombardment launched by aircraft of the Air Force of Russia against motorcade "terrorists" carrying stolen oil in Syria.
