Assad: Russia's support will remain strong

The involvement of Russia in the war in Syria has changed the balance in the field, argued in an interview on Czech public television, the Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, in providing that support from Russia - the country that is the main ally at international level - will remain strong.

In an interview Sunday in Damascus and was broadcast Tuesday, Assad said the shooting down of Russian aircraft of the Turkish Air Force on November 24, showed resentment of Ankara on developments in their fronts in Syria, which as supported the Syrian president is in favor of the government.

"I think (the shooting down of the aircraft) showed the real intention of the (President Recep Tayyip) Erdogan, and he lost his temper, because the Russian intervention changed the balance in the soil," said Assad.

"The war on terror goes on. The Russian support or involvement will be strengthened. It increased anyway. There is no turning back on this, "he said.

Assad added that members of guerrilla organizations will have a full pardon if they are ready to lay down their weapons, but argued that disarmament does not seem to be an option for members of the Islamic State or the Front al Nosra (offshoot of al Qaeda Syria).

"When you hand over their weapons and return to their normal lives, the government will grant them amnesty," he said.

"I do not blame any (crime), you are free to return to your normal lives, but to your peaceful lives," he said.

At the same time, he said that among the Syrian refugees who are arriving in Europe and seek asylum there are terrorists.

Asked whether Europeans should fear refugees from Syria, Assad replied: "it's a mixture. The majority of Syrians are good, patriots ... But certainly among them have crept terrorists, that's true. "
