Voted to lift the immunity of MPs in Turkey
The Turkish National Assembly has adopted by a large majority today the controversial bill that provides for the lifting of immunity of Members of prosecutions.
In the third and final ballot, the bill got the green light with 376 votes of a total of 550 Members of Parliament, announced the president of the National Assembly Ismail Kahraman, the deputies voted ie a figure of more than two thirds (367) required to the Constitution be revised without a referendum.
This decision opens the way for the prosecution against 138 deputies, of whom 50 are members of the pro-Kurdish party Republic Peoples (HDP).
